Abstract: Quality of teacher education is an integral part of the quality of education system. Quality of teacher education would largely depend on the effectiveness of teacher education institutions. This paper tries to gather quality insight of elementary teacher trainees, teacher educators and D.Ed. college principals in Kerala through questionnaires and interview schedule on “quality concerns on elementary teacher education programme” prepared by the investigator. The sample consists of 500 elementary teacher trainees and 45 elementary teacher educators and 20 D.Ed. principals from 5 districts of Kerala. The survey questions were prepared to identify the opinion of elementary teacher trainees, teacher educators and D.Ed. college principals of Kerala about the quality challenges faced by them. The result of this study will reveal the real quality challenges and the current quality of elementary teacher education system.
