dc.description.abstractOBJECTIVES  To construct a culturally inclusive self-learning module on biology for VIIIth standard Irula tribal students. METHODOLOGY Method : content analysis method Sample : 60 secondary school students and teachers Tool : Questionnaire for students , Questionnaire for teachers Statistical techniques : percentage analysis RESULT From the study it is clear that Education as far as tribal students are concerned is a difficult task ,as curriculum, content in the text book, language of instruction, and learning materials are unfamiliar to their cultural and linguistic context. Majority of the students feel difficult to understand terms used in the biology text book .they are not familiar with the examples provided in the SCERT biology text book. So there is a need to develop culturally inclusive self learning module on biology for irula tribal students.
